‘Whole messacre was pre-planned and premeditated‘

Dhaka office: 29 October; BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. Moin Khan said in response to the October 28 attacks on the peaceful demonstration by the BNP-led opposition parties and coalitions in Dhaka, the entire political landscape of Bangladesh has changed drastically in a single day.

Dr Khan, a standing committee member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) said, there is nothing to be surprised about the brutal game Awami League Government played on BNP’s absolute Peaceful Rally, Saturday (28 October) afternoon in Naya Paltan. The Government dilly dallied for the last few days regarding granting the permission to allow BNP to hold this peaceful Protest Rally, then accorded the necessary permission just the night before the day. Today’s Rally/Meeting continued for hours in a perfectly disciplined and peaceful manner until all of a sudden the lobbing of tear gas shells started from the west end of the meeting. The intensity increased and violent attacks with sounds of blasts and shootings turned the whole place into a war zone.

He added, It is obvious that the whole (message) strategy was pre-planned and premeditated and they accorded the permission for the meeting, rather than denying it, with a motive so that they could carry on this cold blooded brutal attack to foil the legitimate peaceful demand of the opposition for the restoration of democracy and voting rights by using the pretext of attack on their Police which has been slyly crafted by the Awami League Government to nullify the legitimate demand of the people of Bangladesh.
Needless to say the whole Political Scenario in Bangladesh has changed drastically in just a day.”
